More than one in three companies in Germany are looking for cloud solutions from Germany or Europe to ensure their data is in safe hands - and the trend is rising. The most important criteria: (GDPR) compliance, data security, access and rights control, data sovereignty and transparency. Almost all providers now claim to be "digitally sovereign" - but this does not always correspond to reality.

The Gaia-X project is an important initiative in this respect: a digital infrastructure of networked data spaces on an open source basis, in which data can be freely exchanged, but whose owners remain sovereign. We have supported this idea from the very beginning and have gone one step further: with STACKIT, we have developed a 100% sovereign cloud.

A data sovereign cloud holistically ensures that users have full transparency and sovereignty over who stores, views, processes and deletes data and when.
