The STACKIT Archiving Service offers audit-proof archiving for data from SAP and non-SAP systems. The data is stored for a predefined, long-term retention period. During the retention period, the archived data is stored in a format that meets the customer's requirements. The data to be archived is sent to the STACKIT Archiving Service via the respective customer system. The data cannot be changed or deleted. The STACKIT Archiving Service does not carry out any post-processing or indexing of the archived data.

Maintain compliance for financial data

With the STACKIT Archiving Service, data can not only be stored long-term, but also unchangeable and non-erasable. To achieve this, we rely on WORM (Write Once Ready Many) object storage. This makes it easy to comply with EU retention periods for financial data and meet compliance and audit requirements.

Reduce infrastructure costs

In many (SAP) systems and applications, there is data that needs to be retained for legal and compliance reasons. This information is not used or accessed on a daily basis, but consumes considerable resources in the systems themselves. This also increases the costs of the systems used. With the STACKIT Archiving Service, the retention period for such data can be maintained without having to use expensive in-house resources.

Large amounts of data can lead to performance losses in systems. This phenomenon can be counteracted by targeted archiving of data. The STACKIT Archiving Service therefore helps to improve the performance of systems.

STACKIT Archiving Service functions

  • Archiving takes place via URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) via 3 possible interfaces: SAP Archive Link, SAP ILM standard or REST API.
  • The costs are charged on the basis of the object storage used (pay-per-use).
  • Archived data can be retrieved directly at any time.
  • If desired, archived data can be deleted automatically after the statutory retention period.
