Schwarz Digits and Zscaler Partner to Create a Sovereign Cloud Security Platform for Europe
Schwarz Digits and Zscaler have entered into a strategic partnership. The integration of the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange™ into the sovereign STACKIT cloud creates a Zero Trust SASE service designed to protect against AI-powered cyber threats. The service is operated by STACKIT in Germany and is now available throughout Europe.
European organizations are increasingly demanding data sovereignty, while AI-powered cyber threats are rapidly growing in complexity. In addition, strict EU regulations such as NIS2, DORA, and the AI Act are bringing cybersecurity to the forefront of executive boards’ agendas. Companies must now meet compliance requirements without sacrificing system performance.
In response to this need, the partners are offering a sovereign Zero Trust SASE cloud directly on Schwarz Digits’ STACKIT infrastructure. This comprehensive offering—including deployment, management, operation, and support—secures hybrid teams and protects data and business operations in compliance with EU regulations, while ensuring operational resilience and supply chain security.
Christian Müller, CEO of Schwarz Digits, explains: “Technological independence starts with the infrastructure. With this partnership, we’re taking network security to a new level: We’re further developing existing security architectures and relying on high-performance identity verification. For our customers, this means even better protection against cyberattacks.”
“In the age of AI-driven cyber threats, a modern Zero Trust SASE solution is the only effective protection for sensitive corporate data,” says Misha Kuperman, Chief Reliability Officer at Zscaler. “The partnership with Schwarz Digits is a sign of our long-term commitment to Europe. Together, we help our customers limit their attack surface and contain the lateral spread of attacks, while simultaneously ensuring compliance with European legislation through data residency within the EU. In this way, we enable the highest level of security in accordance with sovereign European standards.”
“Our customers in the private and public sectors need a secure and resilient IT infrastructure without compromising digital sovereignty. That’s exactly what we enable by combining the expertise of two technology leaders: Zscaler provides the advanced Zero Trust SASE architecture to defend against AI-powered cyberattacks, while Schwarz Digits delivers the sovereign cloud infrastructure via STACKIT. This ensures that all data remains within the EU and is protected from access by third parties,” adds Bernd Wagner, CSO of Schwarz Digits.
